Command Words

Determine, factor, compare. Every course has its own. Miss what one means and the marks go before you write a word.

Take the command word quiz →

Why it matters

A question can be lost before you write anything. Determine wants a value. Factor wants it rewritten. Compare wants both sides and a verdict.

They look like ordinary words. That’s the problem. They get skimmed — and then a good answer goes to a question nobody asked.

How it works

You get the term. You say what kind of answer it wants. I mark it and tell you what it actually asks you to produce.

The ones you miss come back. Here first. Then inside real questions from your own course, where they cost marks.

1 You meet a term determine, factor, compare 2 I mark it and explain what it asks for 3 You go again on the ones you missed 4 I keep the gaps and resurface them in real questions STUDENT AI

What you get

Every course leans on different ones. Math 20-1 uses determine 55 times and graph six. English 30-1 uses determine 84 times and identify 21.

Ten minutes on the ones your course actually uses. Cheapest marks you will ever recover.

What it saves you Ten minutes, once. Then you stop losing marks to a word instead of the maths.
